INGRID, I personally like the marshie a little firmer. It was nice all melted into the cupcake batter but you couldn't really taste it as marshmallow, just a soft cakey center. You know? I am not sure how the marshmallow frosting would hold up to a blow torch. Maybe try one and see how it works! You'll have to come back and let me know too. Good luck with your baking!

Thank you for answering back so promptly. I'm intending to make these tomorrow.

Yes, that is exactly what I was intending to do. Which tasted better, soft melted center or the firmer? Also, how stable is the frosting? Could I use a torch to LIGHTLY brown the frosting? Just a thought....I'm really new to this "think outside the box baking". Ha-ha! Wasn't trying to make a play on words but it works.

Thanks again and wish me luck...otherwise everyone is getting Publix desserts!

INGRID, Just to clarify. You want to bake the marshmallow with the batter at the same time? I tried that for my first attempt and the marshmallow melts into the batter. It tastes great but you don't get a "white center" b/c of that. If you want the white center, you'd need to insert the marshmallow in the center after the cupcakes been baked. HTH!

Hello,

I'm going to make your s'mores cupcakes. I'm not going to decorate them with a beach scene as they are the 3rd cupcake flavor for an engagement party. I was intending to use regular marshmallows, ie. partially fill cupcake liner, put in marshmallow, finish filling liner, and then baking. What do you think?

Thanks for the recipe/idea!
