Made these for all my friends who help me move yesterday- HUGE hit!!!! Will FOR SURE be making these again! Nobody else seemed to think it was a negative, but the frosting was a little too buttery for me, but still SOOOOOOO good!

I stumbled upon your blog a while back, but had yet to find the time to go through all of your posts. I just saw it now and I have to say…wow! These cupcakes look amazing and the flavors sound delicious. I will have to find the time to make these soon. They look too good to pass up!

I’m so sorry it was a disaster! I haven’t tried the Magnolia bakery cupcake but I have heard many good reviews. Definitely need to try that recipe soon!

Thanks so much! I did try the coco-cola ones what a DISASTER! all over the oven! Not sure what happened must be this crazy altitude! I also found the recipe for Magnolia bakery’s chocolate cupcakes from one of the sites on your blogroll and made those yesterday, they were quite yummy, these with the caramel icing look WAY too good not to try though. Any excuse to make more cupcakes right?!?!?! Thanks again!

Bummer that you haven't found your go-to chocolate recipe yet! If we're talking about the same chocolate cupcake recipe, then I think the Chizzler one is my go-to right now. Not sure if the dryness has something to do with altitude. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with that. I did a little google search and found some good suggestions though >> Altitude baking adjustments. Also here is another one of my favorite chocolate cupcake recipes for you to try too. Just found your website from a link off of Bakerella, Love all your cool ideas, so fun and inspirational!
Here’s the deal though – I am helping host a baby shower for a dear friend and am looking for a scrumpdidlious recipe for chocolate cupcakes. I tried the one bowl recipe from Martha Stewart that Bakerella just used for her cupcake tower – YUCK! they tasted good for you! SO NOT COOL!
I also tried your chocolate cupcake recipe from your chizzler cupcakes, yum-o straight out of the oven, but the batter seemed really thick, they didn’t rise at all and they were a bit dry once they cooled off. Wondering if you have any suggestions, or if you would suggest a different recipe? Was planning to try this one with the coke, but noticed you said it wasn’t your favorite – so what is your favorite? Also I am baking at about 5500 feet, so if you have any recommendations for changes I would appreciate it! Thanks!
