September 16, 2009 at 9:59 PM | Posted in Cupcake Hero, cupcakes | 28 Comments
Don’t mind me. I’m just wiping the drool off my face and keyboard.
Ok I’m ready.
First of all… Can I just say that you ALL are FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC?!! I had high hopes for bringing Cupcake Hero back but I am beyond stoked to get 40+ entries the first month. Special thanks to the Cupcake Hero diva herself, Laurie of Quirky Cupcake for giving me her blessing to bring SEXY Cupcake Hero back. Last but not least. Thank you all cup-testants for your creativity and droolworthy entries. I am honestly craving bananas. Whaaaaat? Will the real CB please stand up? HA HA
Without further ado. LET’S ROCK THE VOTE! — > Poll on the side menu bar. Voting ends September 21st @ 11:59pm EST
Vote as many times as you want. <~ (Changed my mind b/c I can! You got a problem? Take it up with yo mama! HA!) But you won't win on votes alone. That will be decided in my kitchen. May the best cupcakes throw down!
Hint for next month's ingredient: Booo-tiful Cupcakes. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
PS- Please let me know if I’ve made any link errors, name misspellings, etc etc. To err is human. To arrgghhh is pirate!

Banana Pudding Cupcakes by Trish of June Cleaver, Eat Your Heart Out
I love love love Southern banana pudding – you know: vanilla custard, slices of banana, and Nilla wafers? YUM. My cupcakes are a lightly flavored banana cake and filled with banana slices, vanilla pudding, and Nilla wafers. They’re frosted in vanilla buttercream and topped with another Nilla wafer.

Banana Split Cupcakes by Jackie of KIPing It Real
My fascination with Banana Splits has gone back to my childhood. They are the only dessert that can be rationalized into containing all of the food groups, thus making it a well balanced meal.

Banana Pandan-monium Cupcakes by Samantha of Konichiwa Kupcakes
It is a pandan coconut cupcake with a banana cream cheese frosting mixed with chopped pecans, topped with desiccated coconut and sliced banana

Frozen Banana Cupcakes by Lauren of Lauren Reid Designs
These yummy little babies are a spin off of a frozen banana where they dip a frozen banana in chocolate…. These are made with a delish base of banana cake and then dipped in ganache and topped with sprinkles (although crushed oreos, coconut, or nuts would be yummy too!) They look absolutely adorable and taste perfectly decadent!

Chocolate Chip Banana Monkey Cupcakes by Amanda of Life Is Sweet
The cupcake inspiration, my daughters adorable onesie and my cupcake version of it. Chocolate Chip Banana Monkey Cakes!

Caramel Banana Cupcakes by Lindsay of Love And Olive Oil
Sweet and sticky banana cake with caramel buttercream.

Taking the s’more to the next level! A graham cracker crumb bottom, a light banana cupcake filled with milk chocolate ganache, and topped with a marshmallow frosting and graham cracker crumbs.

Banana Chai Cupcake w Brown Sugar Cream Cheese Frosting by Kimberly of Only Creative Opportunities
This cupcake was inspired by my morning breakfast protein shake! The ingredients include a jar of banana baby food, chunks of banana, and a bit of Chai Spice for a little kicker. I thought I was wasting money buying this monkey for my kiddo – who knew it would make such a cute photo prop!

Vanilla based cupcake with banana, pineapple and pecans, topped with a cream cheese buttercream frosting and a glazed pecan.

Peanut Butter Bacon and Banana Cupcakes by Steph of Steph Chows
I’m totally trying to bribe you with the fact I used BACON, yes bacon and peanut butter in these!! Who can say no to PB and bacon? Really now! Now don’t think I’m just trying to cover up the banana goodness with these kick butt flavors, they actually go really well with the banana. Mmmmmmm bacon
